Kanye West seria assunto de mais uma música do novo disco da Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift lançou o “Reputation”, seu sexto álbum de estúdio, nesta sexta-feira (10), e os fãs já começaram a analisar as letras de cada uma das canções.

O primeiro single do disco, “Look What You Made Me Do”, tinha muitas referências as tretas de Taylor Swift, principalmente com Kanye West e Kim Kardashian. Mas já encontraram outra música sobre a briga com o casal no álbum: “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” (“É por isso que não podemos ter coisas boas”, em tradução livre), a 13ª faixa do “Reputation”.

A letra da música foi escrita por Taylor Swift e Jack Antonoff. Ela canta sobre como estava cuidando de sua carreira e aproveitando o sucesso que conseguiu ainda bem jovem, até que Kanye West apareceu como o grande estraga prazeres do rolê no VMA de 2009.

“Eu estava me sentindo como o Grande Gatsby naquele ano, então você apareceu como o estraga prazeres” (“Feeling so Gatsby for that whole year/ So why’d you have to rain on my parade?), diz Taylor logo no começo da música.

Em outra parte da música ela fala do tempo em que os dois ensaiaram uma reconciliação, e como tudo deu errado quando ele lançou a música “Famous”, e Kim Kardashian a expôs com aquela gravação de um telefonema.

“Foi tão bom ser amigos novamente. Lá estava eu, dando-lhe uma segunda chance. Mas então você me esfaqueou pelas costas enquanto apertava a minha mão. E aqui está o problema. Amigos não tentam enganá-lo, te colocam no telefone e mentem” (“It was so nice being friends again/ There I was, giving you a second chance/ But then you stabbed in the back while shaking my hand/ And therein lies the issue/ Friends don’t try to trick you/ Get you on the phone and mind-twist you”), canta Taylor na faixa.

Logo em seguida ela diz: “Mas eu não sou o único amigo que você perdeu ultimamente” (“But I’m not the only friend you’ve lost lately”), que seria uma referência treta recente dos ex melhores amigos, Kanye West e JAY-Z, que trocaram alfinetadas em público.

Outro verso que chamou atenção dos fãs foi “Here’s a toast to my real friends” (Um brinde aos meus amigos de verdade), que lembra os versos “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags/Let’s have a toast for the assholes/Let’s have a toast for the scumbags” (“Vamos brindar os babacas”), da canção “Runaway”, lançada por Kanye West em 2010, em que ele pede desculpas pelo seu comportamento arrogante.

Na mesma estrofe Taylor continua: “Um brinde ao meu amor, que não está lendo nada do que dizem ultimamente sobre mim” (“And here’s to my baby/ He ain’t reading what they call me lately”); “Um brinde à minha mãe que precisou ouvir todo esse drama” (“And here’s to my momma/ Had to listen to all this drama”); e “Um brinde a você, pois perdão é algo legal de se fazer, haha, eu nem consigo falar isso de forma séria” (“And here’s to you/‘Cause forgiveness is a nice thing to do/Haha, I can’t even say it with a straight face”).

Já o refrão da música fala o seguinte: “É por isso que não podemos ter coisas boas. Você acha que eu não ia ouvir o que você disse sobre mim?” (“This is why we can’t have nice things, honey/ Did you think I wouldn’t hear all the things you said about me?”).
